Friday Focus Morning Show – October 20

Sierra Vista has a new Assistant City Manager, who joined us on our second hour this morning. Victoria Yarbrough comes to the position with plenty of experience, including the last six years as the city’s Leisure & Libraries Director. Hear her thoughts on economic development, regional partnerships, the West End, and much more.

Second hour – Assistant City Manager

Habitat for Humanity is going through a financial crisis and is currently involved in an investigation by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Dept. and the FBI. We discussed this issue with Eric Petermann, who co-wrote a story on the subject in the Herald/Review. We also talked about the Bisbee City Hall fire and its consequences, potential tax reform and its impact on local businesses and workers, the firing of the Huachuca City fire chief, and the continued effort to remove unsightly mobile homes from Sierra Vista.

First hour – Community News & Issues

Canyon Vista Medical Center has been awarded a center of excellence accreditation for its bone and knee replacement department. We were joined by orthopedic surgeons Laurence Susini, Randall Roy, and Brian Daines, along with director Cosette Britton, and nurse Rachel Penix, who told us why the accolade was awarded and what it means for our community.
