Friday Focus Morning Show – April 15

Looking for a new job or looking to hire? Get details on two upcoming career fairs from Angelica Hernandez of Arizona @ Work, pictured above, who stopped by the studio this morning. And if you need an incentive to get off the couch this weekend, head over to the Thunder Mountain Games at Veterans Memorial Park where there will be plenty of health and wellness activities and information. This is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity, and executive director Rachel Gray told us all about this 2nd annual event. We’ve also got details on lots of other events taking place this weekend, as well as our weekly discussion on local news with Herald editor Eric Petermann.

IMG_0121In our second hour Michael Vetter, executive director of Catholic Community Services, joined us for an in-depth discussion on this important non-profit and the vital programs it offers. Michael also spoke about the current crisis facing the Arizona Dept. of Child Safety, which is struggling to cope with 20,000 children currently in care and looking for foster homes.

IMG_0122And in our final hour we learned all about Sierra Vista Medical Group Orthopedics from Dr. Randall Roy. This informative hour, sponsored by Canyon Vista Medical Center, focussed on sports medicine, orthopedic surgery and treatments, common procedures, and much more.
