Friday Focus Morning Show – February 26

Master Gardener Jan Roth stopped by the studio to give us all the details. We’ve also got information on many other events taking place this weekend and beyond.

IMG_0081In our second hour we were joined by local astronomer Bob Gent who told us about some exciting events being hosted by the Huachuca Astronomy Club, as well as the campaign to have Chiricahua National Memorial designated a National Park.

The non-profit is about to move into an historic phase with the opening of its new building this summer. Find out about all of the vital services the Salvation Army offers our community. IMG_0034We had a record number of guests throughout this week’s three-hour show, including Wayne Gregan to tell us all about the upcoming Southeast AZ Contractors Association Home & Garden Show, and Eva Dickerson from the Sierra Vista Unified School District. Cowboy singer Randy Huston gave us a wonderful taster of this weekend’s Cochise Cowboy Poetry & Music Gathering, and Herald Editor Eric Petermann IMG_0036was with us for the first hour – watch out for a behind-the-scenes article in this Sunday’s paper. In the second hour, fourth generation ranchers John Ladd and Fred Davis gave us a fascinating IMG_0037insight into the life of ranching on the border, and the efforts being made in the conservation arena. And in our final hour Cody Bosley and Kay Barnes, members of the Cochise County Student Government, dropped by to tell us about some upcoming events.
